چکیده

Mangalore melon (Cucumis melo ssp. agrestis var. acidulus) is a non-dessert melon, extensively grown in the coastal districts of South India, but hardly known to rest World. Immature or mature fruits are used preparation delicious dishes such as vegetable stew, chutneys and curries. They appreciated for nutritional values, long shelf life biotic stress resistance. Seventy-nine accessions were collected from five states India their genetic diversity was assessed using inter simple sequence repeat (ISSR) markers. Putative candidate genes extended studied by quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction comparison with cantaloupe L.). Shelf varied 65 300 days at room temperature. Six ISSR primers amplified 142 fragments ranging 80 2380 bp an average 23.66 bands per marker on high-resolution capillary electrophoresis system. Neighbor joining phylogenetic tree construction allele similarity based distance revealed two major clusters 46 33 each cluster. Expression fruit ripening related ethylene biosynthesis (1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate synthase, 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylate oxidase) cell wall metabolism (polygalacturonase, xyloglucan endotransglucosylase/hydrolase expansin) melons significantly lower than 180 after harvest. promising resource enhancing melons. The putative identified here useful cantaloupe.

Heterologous Expression and Biochemical Characterization of Two Lipoxygenases in Oriental Melon, Cucumis melo var. makuwa Makino

Lipoxygenases (LOXs) are a class of non-heme iron-containing dioxygenases that catalyse oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids to produce hydroperoxidation that are in turn converted to oxylipins. Although multiple isoforms of LOXs have been detected in several plants, LOXs in oriental melon have not attracted much attention. Two full-length LOX cDNA clones, CmLOX10 and CmLOX13 which have bee...

The Alcohol Dehydrogenase Gene Family in Melon (Cucumis melo L.): Bioinformatic Analysis and Expression Patterns

Alcohol dehydrogenases (ADH), encoded by multigene family in plants, play a critical role in plant growth, development, adaptation, fruit ripening and aroma production. Thirteen ADH genes were identified in melon genome, including 12 ADHs and one formaldehyde dehydrogenease (FDH), designated CmADH1-12 and CmFDH1, in which CmADH1 and CmADH2 have been isolated in Cantaloupe. ADH genes shared a lo...

The Cinnamyl Alcohol Dehydrogenase Gene Family in Melon (Cucumis melo L.): Bioinformatic Analysis and Expression Patterns

Cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD) is a key enzyme in lignin biosynthesis. However, little was known about CADs in melon. Five CAD-like genes were identified in the genome of melons, namely CmCAD1 to CmCAD5. The signal peptides analysis and CAD proteins prediction showed no typical signal peptides were found in all CmCADs and CmCAD proteins may locate in the cytoplasm. Multiple alignments imp...

The genome of melon (Cucumis melo L.).

We report the genome sequence of melon, an important horticultural crop worldwide. We assembled 375 Mb of the double-haploid line DHL92, representing 83.3% of the estimated melon genome. We predicted 27,427 protein-coding genes, which we analyzed by reconstructing 22,218 phylogenetic trees, allowing mapping of the orthology and paralogy relationships of sequenced plant genomes. We observed the ...

Transcriptome analysis of the oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa) during fruit development

BACKGROUND The oriental melon (Cucumis melo L. var. makuwa) is one of the most important cultivated cucurbits grown widely in Korea, Japan, and northern China. It is cultivated because its fruit has a sweet aromatic flavor and is rich in soluble sugars, organic acids, minerals, and vitamins. In order to elucidate the genetic and molecular basis of the developmental changes that determine size, ...
